About Me:
I am an independent consultant and manager for the sustainable operation of venues and events.
I was born in Essen and the Ruhr region has shaped me: Work, more hard work, performance.
At the same time, music has accompanied me my whole life - I cannot and do not want to imagine a life without music.
My professional career has been shaped by events and music - over the years I have been very fortunate to have worked in a wide variety of positions in the event industry, from trainee sound engineer to managing director of one of the most modern arenas in Europe. This has given me a very varied view of this industry in the truest sense of the word.
The birth of my two children has changed my perspective on life and the world of work; it's about more than just Excel spreadsheets, egos and overtime. Training as a change manager and business coach has also broadened my perspective.
Like all companies, the event industry is undergoing change and is facing major challenges: VUCA, Work 4.0, etc. - At the end of the day, most of the work is done by people.
It's still people business!
With my training to become a TÜV-certified sustainability manager in 2016, I gained another perspective on the interaction between the key areas of our society:
A balance between economic success, appropriate environmental awareness within planetary boundaries and socially acceptable working conditions is the future. Companies need an authentic sustainable vision that is wanted and supported by all those involved (stakeholders).
In recent years, I have successfully implemented two sustainability certifications as managing director of an event venue.
Through my many years as a guest lecturer for sustainable event management at the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg, I have further deepened the theoretical foundation and taught it to many students in a very practical way.
My vision is to support event venues in implementing their sustainable goals.
This process is not easy, it involves resistance and setbacks, that's part of it.
